Time to Check on your Above Ground Pool!

Check on your Above Ground Pool

Dear Valued Customer,

With the recent freeze and thaw cycles this winter season has produced, I encourage you to remember the pool in your backyard. Please just take a few minutes to go out and inspect the cover and pool structure. As we have stressed in our previous communications, it is very important to check the above-ground pool cover cable for tautness. The cable should be snug, but never taut. A taut cable could bend or pull in the top rails and/or uprights causing structure failure and/or liner failure. Winter damage is not covered under any type of warranty and is rarely covered by insurance.

Rainwater and snow should be pumped or removed from the cover to prevent damage. When pumping the water from the cover, be sure to pump the water back under the cover to prevent draining the pool. Minor holes or tears in the cover will cause continuous draining and therefore lower the water level in the pool which can lead to damage. Should your cable be too taut, either loosen the turnbuckle or, in severe cases, cut the cable?

Use extreme caution to prevent any injuries! If you do not feel comfortable doing this, please feel free to contact us at any time. We will be happy to assist you. If you have been pumping off accumulated rainwater and also keeping up the proper pool water level before it froze, you should not experience this cable tautness. Snyder Pools does offer a service during the winter months to remove snow from the cover and to release cover tension.

A service charge of $145.00 will apply. Should you need our assistance or to have questions answered, please call our office. Our winter store hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm and Saturday 9:00am - 4:00pm. If you are reaching us during our off hours, please leave a message and your call will be returned promptly.  Sincerely, Doug SnyderService ManagerSnyder Pools
