How often should I clean my cartridges?
Unfortunately, there’s no single answer for how often you should clean your pool filter cartridges. The frequency depends on several factors, including the length of your pool season, the condition of your pool, and the surrounding environment.
The good news is that your filter has a built-in gauge to help determine when cleaning is needed. Once the pressure gauge reads 10 PSI higher than the system’s starting pressure, it’s time to clean your cartridges.
How do I clean my cartridges?
Get a clean plastic trash barrel and fill it with water.
Add the recommended amount of filter cleaner (follow the dosage instructions on the container).
Soak the cartridges for at least 24 hours.
After soaking, rinse them with a power washer. Keep the washer at a safe distance to avoid ripping or tearing the material.
If your pool has algae, clean the cartridges daily until the problem is resolved.
